French President Emmanuel Macron recently expressed his desire for Netflix’s hit show *Emily in Paris* to stay in the French capital, especially after it was announced that the main character would be moving to Rome.
Macron emphasized that the show, which has significantly boosted tourism to Paris, should remain set in its iconic location. In a lighthearted exchange, Rome’s Mayor Roberto Gualtieri welcomed the change, suggesting that Emily’s heart should guide her choices.
Macron happily mentioned that his wife, Brigitte, made an appearance in the fourth season, which gives him an interesting personal connection to the show.
He jokingly said, though, that he wouldn’t emulate her by making a cameo of his own because he is “less attractive” than she is.
Macron thinks the performance has a favorable effect on France’s image and appeal to tourists, despite some reservations over how Paris is portrayed.
