Justice in Film: Kerala’s Hema Panel Sets the Stage for Tamil Nadu’s Next Move

In 2017, following an attack on an actress, the Kerala government formed the Justice Hema Committee. This committee’s report revealed instances of harassment and exploitation of women in the Malayalam film industry.

Recently, superstar Rajinikanth mentioned that he was unaware of any similar panel being formed in Tamil Nadu, like the Justice Hema Committee in Kerala. When asked by reporters about calls for a similar panel in Tamil Nadu, he responded, “What? I don’t know about that, sorry.”
