After a careless stunt in South Korea, 24-year-old American YouTuber Johnny Somali is receiving criticism.
Somali kissed a statue of “comfort women”—Korean women who were forced into sexual slavery during Japan’s colonization (1910–1945)—while in Changdong History and Culture Park in Seoul.

Outrage was also sparked when he danced inappropriately in front of the Statue of Peace. Many people are still dubious about his previous acts, even after he apologized in a video and said he didn’t comprehend the statue’s significance.
In one of his contentious posts, Somali claimed to have “defeated Koreans for you” in reference to Shinzo Abe, the former prime minister of Japan.
Other provocations include exhibiting provocative emblems, playing loud music in public, and mocking South Korea’s president.
Authorities have banned travel to Somalia, which is currently being investigated for obstructing business operations and potential drug usage.
