Priyanka Gandhi Joins Lok Sabha, Marking a Historic Moment for the Gandhi Family.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra officially assumed office as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, taking the oath while holding a copy of the Indian Constitution.

Her recent victory in the Wayanad by-election in Kerala marks her first entry into Parliament. This milestone also brings all three members of the Nehru-Gandhi family—Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi—into Parliament together for the first time in decades.

Known for her striking resemblance and eloquent style, Priyanka Gandhi is often compared to her grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Even before formally entering politics, she was a prominent campaigner for the Congress Party, passionately supporting her mother Sonia Gandhi and brother Rahul Gandhi.

In the Wayanad by-election, Priyanka achieved a sweeping victory with a margin of 4,10,931 votes. The election saw a triangular contest between Priyanka Gandhi, BJP’s Navya Haridas, and CPI’s Sathyan Mokeri. The bypoll coincided with the 2024 Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections.

Priyanka’s decisive win reinforced Wayanad’s status as a Congress stronghold and solidified her position as an influential figure in Indian politics.
